1. Travel Only if Essential

  • Avoid driving unless necessary. Roads may be icy or snow-covered.

  • If you must go out, drive slowly, keep a safe distance, and have an emergency kit in your car.

2. Prepare Your Home

  • Keep pipes from freezing (disconnect hoses, open faucets, insulate pipes).

  • Check that you have flashlights, batteries, blankets, and water in case of power outages.

  • Charge phones and other devices in advance.

3. Stay Informed

  • Monitor local news, weather alerts, and the town’s official channels for updates.

  • Sign up for CodeRED alerts if you haven’t already.

4. Care for Vulnerable Neighbors & Pets

  • Check on elderly or at-risk neighbors.

  • Bring pets indoors or ensure they have adequate shelter and warmth.

5. Outdoor Safety

  • Avoid walking on icy surfaces.
