Golf Cart Ordinance Approved

Following a public hearing at the September 2021 Town of Victoria council meeting, the proposed ordinance to allow the use of golf carts on streets in the Town of Victoria with a posted speed limit of 25 MPH or less was approved.  The ordinance and cart requirements can be found in the golf cart ordinance.  All golf cart owners wishing to operate golf carts on public streets must complete a golf cart registration form and submit it along with proof of insurance and a $25.00 registration fee.  The registration process will be handled at the town office.

Victoria DMV Select

Beginning October 4, 2021 the Victoria DMV Select will resume walk-in service for DMV customers.  At the end of October staff will evaluate the volume and make any adjustments that may be needed.

Concerns Over Victoria Utility Bills

Recently, we have heard concerns from customers regarding their utility bill from the Town of Victoria.  Town personnel read the water meters around the end of each month.  The bill that you receive at the beginning of the month is actually for usage 30 days prior, for example, the bill received on September 1 was for water used during the month of July.  The current minimum monthly charge for residential utilities in the Town of Victoria is $62.00 which is comprised of the following:

Spring is Here and Grass is Growing

Spring is in the air and the grass has started growing.  This is a reminder that Town of Victoria Ordinance Sec. 14-22(a)(1) states: It shall be a misdemeanor for any person who owns or occupies property within the town to permit any grass, plants, bushes, weeds or any other vegetation ten inches high or over, other than trees, shrubbery, agricultural plants, garden vegetables, flowers or ornamental plants, to exist on the property.

Town of Victoria Proposed FY2022 Budget
