Debris Pickup

Part-time Employment

Spring is Here and Grass is Growing

Spring is in the air and the grass has started growing.  This is a reminder that Town of Victoria Ordinance Sec. 14-22(a)(1) states: It shall be a misdemeanor for any person who owns or occupies property within the town to permit any grass, plants, bushes, weeds or any other vegetation ten inches high or over, other than trees, shrubbery, agricultural plants, garden vegetables, flowers or ornamental plants, to exist on the property.

Town of Victoria Proposed FY2022 Budget

Free Storm Debris Pickup to End

3/31/2021

The last day for free pick up of storm debris from the ice storms in the middle of February will be Friday, April 23, 2021.  Debris piles in place prior to this date will be picked up at no charge. Any debris piled after April 23rd will be picked up for a fee.

Debris Cleanup Continues

Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as the cleanup from the ice storm continues.  Town crews are still working to make the first pass through all of the streets in town to pick up piles of debris.  Once all streets have been visited for the first time, crews will start going back to streets already visited.

Part of Trail Reopened

The section of trail that was closed from W. 6th Street (behind Subway) to just west of Twin Cemetery Road has been reopened as of this morning (Wednesday, March 10th).  The remainder of the trail to near the airport remains closed due to trees down from the recent ice storm.

Debris Pickup Schedule

Storm debris will be picked up Monday and Tuesday each week, weather permitting, for the next several weeks.  Crews will be checking to see where debris piles are located.  We will do our best to get around to all piles and get them removed as soon as possible.  Thanks for your assistance in this and your cooperation and patience as we dispose of the large amount of debris.

Storm Debris Pickup

Storm debris pickup will begin Monday, Feb. 22nd.  Debris will be picked up Monday and Tuesday of the week of Feb. 22nd.  Please have your piles of debris near the street, there will be no pick up from the alley. Any debris piles that have trash, appliances, etc. will not be picked up.

Combined Efforts

The Towns of Kenbridge and Victoria have entered into a joint venture to provide another needed service to the citizens of the 2 towns.  The towns have jointly purchased a grapple truck to be shared between the 2 towns to help with debris cleanup.  Provided there are no unforseen issues, the truck should be in service next week to help clean up storm debris.  More details on the pick up schedule will be posted next week.
