Annual Golf Cart/UTV Registration

The 2023 decals for golf cart/UTV registration are available at the town office.  Decals are $25.00 annually.  The registration form is available at the town office or at Golf Cart/UTV Registration Form.  Proof of insurance is required along with the annual registration.

2023 Pool Season

Pool season is almost here.  The Victoria Pool is scheduled to open Saturday, May 27th and remain open until Labor Day.  Rates remain the same as last year.  Applications can be picked up at the town office during regular business hours or downloaded at 2023 Pool Application.

Vegetative Debris Pickup

4/24/2023

Free pick up of vegetative debris will be offered in the Town of Victoria on Thursday, April 27th and Friday, April 28th.  This free pickup will only be for tree and shrubbery debris.  Any piles that include trash, furniture, or construction debris will not be picked up.  Citizens are asked to pile the debris near the road but not directly under overhead wires to allow access with the grapple truck.  Citizens may call the town office at 696-2343 and leave the address of the debris pile.

More Than Spring Sprung Last Week

According to the calendar, Monday, March 20, 2023 was the first day of the spring season.  For town staff a different kind of spring came on Tuesday, March 21st as many water leaks sprung up around town.  Water supply operations for the town changed last week as scheduled maintenance was performed on the elevated water tank on Mecklenburg Avenue, requiring it to be drained and isolated from the water system.

Changes to Garbage Collection in Victoria Beginning

1/13/2023

The Town of Victoria has taken delivery of its new semi-automated garbage truck and refuse carts.  Town personnel began distributing carts on the west side of town on Friday, January 13, 2023 along with a letter explaining the new system.  You may notice a mark painted on the ground where the cart was dropped off.  This is where the cart needs to be placed for pickup with wheels and handle away from the street.

Fall Migration of Turkey Vultures and Buzzards

11/14/2022

The annual fall migration of turkey vultures and buzzards through the Town of Victoria has begun.  These migratory birds are federally protected species and it is against federal law to kill them without a federal permit.  The Town of Victoria will be using pyrotechnics over the next few weeks to attempt to encourage the birds to move out of town.  Thank you for your consideration as this problem is addressed.

Scott Crawford Appreciation Day

Victoria and the surrounding area has been blessed with many dedicated UPS drivers through the years.  One of those dedicated drivers, Scott Crawford, will be retiring at the end of the year.  Scott has been with UPS for over 30 years and has been serving our area for over 20 years.  In appreciation for his many years of faithful service, Tuesday, October 25, 2022 will be Scott Crawford Appreciation Day.  Citizens and businesses are encouraged to show their appreciation for Scott's service to the area that day.

November 2022 Town Council Meeting

VA Code §15.2-1416(B) provides guidance for regularly scheduled meetings of public bodies and the rescheduling of those meetings due to falling on legal holidays. Due to Election Day falling on the second Tuesday of November, the regular meeting of the Victoria Town Council will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 7:00 PM at the Victoria Municipal Building.

National Night Out

The Towns of Kenbridge and Victoria are sponsoring the 2022 National Night Out event for Lunenburg County.  The event will take place at Victoria Railroad Park on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  Various first responders from the area will be on hand to meet the public.  There will also be first responder vehicles on display.  Free hotdogs, chips, and bottled water will be available for attendees.  We hope to see you in the park Tuesday afternoon.
